Sandy Bridge Owners Can Rent CinemaNow HD Movies

20 Oct

Intel is once again trying its hands at Hollywood fame to enhance its processors. The company enunciates that the owners of PCs with Sandy Bridge processors can now buy or rent movies from CinemaNow in 1080p resolution via its “Intel Insider” program. CinemaNow offered only standard definition movies earlier. The company also provides movies form the Warner Bros. The contents are not limited to Intel-based PCs only.

Intel has already used movie content as enhancing tool for its chips. People may remember Viiv, a brand and software that was used by Intel in 2006 to enterprise particular Intel PCs as home entertainment systems. Then, the company marketed into a Clickstar, a enterprise co-founded with Academy award-winning actor Morgan Freeman. Clickstar was supposed to produce films, distributed over the internet and made available only on Intel Viiv PCs. Clickstar was the first company to offer a movie for download, 10 Items or less, in 2006, but was eventually shut down in 2008. Intel has now become much more alert, with their previous experience. The company has now invested with exclusive partnership of CinemaNow (trademark owned by BestBuy) comparatively lesser than previous time.
