Canon Information and Imaging Solutions Announces Upcoming Launch of New Enterprise Application and Imaging Integration Platform

Canon Information and Imaging solutions, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., officially announced the planned commencement of New Enterprise Application and Imaging Integration Platform. It depends upon a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) created in the way which allows companies to enhance business workflows and improve office productivity.The new middleware application, blended with Canon’s renowned imaging expertise and Oracle’s leading-edge Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) technologies, will allow businesses to connect Enterprise Resource Program (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Content Management (ECM) applications in order to help improve their business processes. In addition, the SOA – based imaging platform will provide an additional level of functionality versus traditional Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) middleware by connecting document-related processes to the overall business process workflow.

This new SOA – based imaging platform that will equip firms to cost-effectively streamline their business processes and document/image management capabilities. Leveraging Canon’s experience in managing information throughout the input to output stages, Canon will help to consistently blend fragmented business processes while incorporating the information typically captured through paper-based processes.

This platform was designed by Canon IT Solutions Inc. of Japan. The new platform was developed as part of the global alliance between Canon and Oracle announced on September 26, 2011, leveraging Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle software products including Oracle Database, Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle SOA Suite with Canon’s globally recognized imaging technologies.

Using this new middleware and ready-to-use adapters, IT managers can quickly launch new workflows to help in the improvement of information processing and routing.  The middleware will be along with customization and integration services. The new solution will be offered as a part of the Canon Information and Imaging Solutions Professional portfolio as well as through select system integration partners

The new platform is planned to be made available in the second quarter of 2012.
